๐ AI is Making F1 Faster
Published 4 months agoย โขย 4 min read
Mathematics is the language of the universe.
Discoveries in Math have without a doubt shaped the world we live in.
So far though, AI hasn't made any real revolutionary discoveries in math.
When it does, things are going to get very interesting.

Midjourney Reverse Engineering โป๏ธ
Have you ever come across a cool AI image and wanted to know how to create similar shots yourself? It's actually easier than you think using Midjourney's Describe feature.
The Describe feature lets you upload an image and get descriptive text snippets in return. From there, you can click the ones you like to construct a new prompt.
Here's how:
Copy the target image, then paste it into the text field in Midjourney
Click the ๐ผ๏ธ icon then hover over the image you uploaded, click the โน๏ธ
Click the snippets you want to create your new prompts with.
Take a screen grab and paste it into Midjourney, follow the steps above and create your prompt:
First attempt, I got this:
As you can see it's not totally perfect, but with 5 minutes of fine tuning you could get something very close! It's a really nice way to get started reverse engineering prompts. I made a short YouTube video with a few more examples if you're interested! ๐
Ps. Midjourney Alpha (the web app) is now open to all users! You can try it for free for a limited time. If you're an MJ user, you have NO excuse to still be using Discord. ๐
AI is Making F1 Faster ๐
Have you ever seen one of those colorful animations that simulate air or some other fluid? Well, those simulations are created with something called Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). And they take a massive amount of engineering expertise and computational effort to complete.
The good news is, BeyondMath is developing AI-powered software that aims to accelerate the creation of these simulations.
CFD often requires engineers to wait overnight or longer for results, which slows down the iterative design process. BeyondMath are using machine learning to provide close to real-time simulations.
They've already put the physics-based AI simulation to work, creating a digital wind-tunnel to be used for F1 aero optimization.
I've often wondered if there would be some overlap between generative AI and CFD, especially when looking at fluids generated with Runway Gen-3. I wonder if there will be some way to simulate fluids for analysis with gen AI in the future. ๐ค

Free Prompt Engineering School โ๏ธ
If you've ever thought about taking a course to improve your prompt engineering skills, or wanted to build an app with AI, this is for you!
Anthropic (the creators of Claude) have released a series of prompt engineering courses for free on their GitHub. Currently, there's 4 to choose from. ๐
โAnthropic API fundamentals course - teaches the essentials of working with the Claude SDK: getting an API key, working with model parameters, writing multimodal prompts, streaming responses, etc.
โReal world prompting course - learn how to incorporate prompting techniques into complex, real world prompts
โTool use course - teaches everything you need to know to implement tool use successfully in your workflows with Claude.
These courses require an Anthropic API key and some knowledge of how to use GitHub and Python, which is the only drawback if you're an absolute beginner.
If you're keen on taking the course, feel free to shoot me an email and I can try help you get started. I'll be working my way through the lessons myself over the next few days and weeks!
Ideogram 2.0 Goes Live ๐ผ๏ธ
I truly believe Ideogram is the most underrated AI image generator in the game, and they've just dropped a new model - Ideogram 2.0.
Here's some of the key features that sets the new model apart:
Ideogram API: Allows developers to integrate Ideogram into their applications, arguably the best choice for API image gen right now.
New iOS app: Bringing Ideogram's capabilities to mobile users, make sure you install the right one! (includes free credits + Android version coming soon)
Enhanced Style Controls: Options include Realistic, Design, 3D, and Anime styles.
Color Palette Control: Allows users to generate images adhering to specific color palettes. I really like this feature, perfect if you have specific brand colors you'd like to stick to.
Ideogram Search: Access to over 1 billion publicly viewable images generated by users.
Describe: Enhanced Describe feature to generate detailed text prompts from images - similar to what we did earlier with Midjourney.
You can get a 60 second rundown on the new model here if you prefer to watch:
AMD just made a serious move to catch up in the AI race, dropping $4.9 billion to acquire ZT Systems.
Despite being a major chip manufacturer, AMD has been lagging behind Nvidia in the AI market. This acquisition represents their largest to date, showing how seriously they're taking AI compute.
โZT Systems is a specialized provider of custom compute and storage systems for hyperscale data centers. They're known for their expertise in AI infrastructure and relationships with major tech companies such as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft.
AMD aims to provide end-to-end AI infrastructure, from chips to rack-scale systems, taking advantage of ZT Systems' expertise. This acquisition also connects AMD with major hyperscale providers, aiming to expand their presence in the data center AI market.
It's definitely a power move from AMD, showing they're serious about being more than just a chip maker in the AI world.

There's an emerging trend putting intelligent AI into closed systems and observing the behaviors. Given the rate AI systems can adapt, it's possible we might just learn a few things about our own civilization. And even our destiny.
